To protect your workforce, we are at your fingertips: internationalsos.comJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Case Manager/Disability Specialist to provide expert consultative assistance for federal agencies in the assessment, management, and prevention of medically based lost time. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in workers' compensation, disability management, and relevant regulations such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Consultative Support:
    • Provide consultative assistance to federal agencies to facilitate and integrate the assessment, management, and prevention of medically-based lost-time cases.
    • Assist in the development of policies and programs, including early intervention strategies, limited/light duty options, and job analysis.
  • File Reviews and Analysis:
    • Conduct thorough workers' compensation file reviews focusing on lost-time cases, high-cost cases, and illness claims (CA2).
    • Analyze trends and problems in these cases, and provide detailed reports with recommendations to the agency for improving outcomes.
  • Data Management and Documentation:
    • Assess data management information systems or manual methods used to document injuries and case management.
    • Ensure that all documentation and reporting are accurate and compliant with relevant regulations and best practices.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills while interviewing agency employees, managers, healthcare providers, and Occupational Workers' Compensation Program (OWCP) personnel.
    • Collaborate with various stakeholders to develop comprehensive injury prevention and disease management programs.
  • Policy Development:
    • Assist FOHS in developing policies and guidelines for Injury Prevention and Disease Management programs.
    • Ensure that these policies align with federal guidelines and support the health and safety of the workforce.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of workers' compensation and disability management principles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines.
  • Ability to conduct in-depth case file reviews and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Proficient in data management and documentation practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills to develop and implement effective disability management programs.
Work Environment: The Case Manager/Disability Specialist will work in a dynamic environment that requires a blend of clinical expertise, policy development, and strong communication skills. The role involves collaboration with federal agencies, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective management of disability and workers' compensation cases.Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in workers' compensation or a related field of medical employability.
  • Familiarity with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines.
  • Must possess one of the following certifications:
    • Certification in Case Management (CCM)
    • Certified Rehab Nurse (CRN)
    • Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN)

Compensation - Min: $60,000/ Max: $80,000Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
