Understands and correctly applies state statutes, administrative rule and policy to duties assignedProvides investigation services related to child abuse/neglect and child welfare referralsProvides case management services for court-ordered and voluntary cases related to child protection, child welfare and juvenile justiceProvides assessment, service coordination, and case management services for children, individuals, and familiesIs certified to and provides the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessment to children as requiredDetermines the range of services needed by individuals and families through interviews, home visits, collateral contacts, etc.Attends court hearings and provides written reports and testimonyMonitors compliance with court ordersPerforms Foster Care & Kinship coordination and training duties including but not limited to, licensing foster homes, scheduling regular training and meetings for foster parents, providing input and support to, matching child placements to the appropriate foster home, and assisting in dispute resolutions involving kinship and foster familiesUnderstands a variety of state programs including Juvenile Court Intake, Juvenile Justice and Delinquency, Foster Care, Kinship, Subsidized Guardianships, and Independent LivingAssists with case consultation with co-workersCoordinates services with other agencies/disciplines/community members such as law enforcement, schools, attorneys, mental health, and alcohol and other drug professionals, etc.Provides evening and weekend on-call services including assessment, crisis intervention, custody decisions and referralsCompletes case-related documents including correspondence, case decisions, and general documentationArranges evaluation services to assist with family assessment decisionsPrepares families for court hearings by explaining the process and by sharing recommendationsParticipates in section and department meetings, work-related committees, and trainingsProvides informational presentations to other staff, professionals, and community groups related to department programs and policiesResearches, identifies and provides cost effective and evidence-based programs for Children and Families case plansParticipates in supervision/consultationPerforms other duties as assigned Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in social work, sociology, psychology, and criminal justice or other approved human services programMinimum of one year experience providing case management and/or service coordination to children, individuals, and/or familiesCompetent in or ability to quickly learn computer data systems necessary to perform dutiesValid Wisconsin driver's license and reliable transportation Supplemental Information 6. Depending upon the position, full-time employees may be scheduled either 37.5 or 40 hours per week.Shifts for Dispatch personnel will vary, but cover 24-hours per day, 365 days per year. Applicants for these positions must be flexible. .Insurance:Health insurance is available to regular employees that work 26 hours per week or more and those that are eligible for participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System. Coverage is effective upon completion of one full calendar month of employment.Both Disability and Life Insurance are available.A Section 125 Plan (Flexible Spending) is available.Sick Leave:Sick time is accumulated at the rate of eight (8) days per year for full-time employees and is pro-rated based on hours worked for employees working 50% time or more.
