DescriptionThe Gary E. Miller Canadian County Children's Justice Center operates as a department of the Canadian County government, providing services and programs for children and families. Included are offices for the Juvenile Case Managers, Detention Center, Behavioral Health, CHBS, Alternative School as well as the local agency of the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs.Title of position: Behavioral Health Case Manager IIDescription of essential duties and responsibilities:
- Provides individual, family and group alcohol, tobacco or other drug-related rehabilitative services and case management services.
- Participates in case staffing with chemical dependency treatment team
- Completes all required case documentation in a timely manner
- Completes screening and referral for Center clients
- Participates in quarterly quality case reviews of client files
- Participates in monthly supervision with the Lead Counselor.
- Comes to work on a regular full-time basis
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications for position:Must be able to become certified as a Case Manager II by meeting one of the following criteria:
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND a total of 36 months of direct, documented experience working with persons who live with mental illness and/or substance abuse issues; OR
- 60 college credit hours in any field and 12 months of behavioral health experience; OR
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in any field with 6 months of behavioral health experience; OR
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a behavioral health field
- Must be 21 years old
- Must pass background check, drug and alcohol screening.
Supervisory relationships: This position reports directly to the Lead TherapistSkills and knowledge required: Should be familiar with the principles of alcohol and drug addiction and basic alcohol and drug education modalities with individuals, families and groups; should be familiar with the admission, education and discharge planning practices as well as how to complete related documentation.Prior experience required: One year of prior work experience is required; work may be salaried or volunteer experiencePersonal qualities: Individual should have sufficient interpersonal skills to work closely with professional peers and clientsAmount of travel and other special conditions or requirements: Travel may be required in order to obtain job-related trainingWork Schedule: Required 40 hour work week; this position requires some evenings and/or weekends.Salary considerations include education and experience.This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019. This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license.
