This is a full-time 40 hour a week position. Note: 1 to 2 days of this position may be remoteTHE POSITION:Our Cash Management Specialist will work in collaboration with accounting colleagues to ensure delivery of a high standard of service within our organization. This position will be responsible for the accurate cash count and daily/weekly reconciliations of cash for our entire organization. This position will work closely with the front office and shelter supervisors to investigate variances and resolve questions as needed. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with the processing of mail and maintenance of trust statements.Some of the duties include:
- Reconcile financial transactions between various payment systems and vet hospital software to identify variances.
- Accurately document cash transactions for vet hospital practices, clinics, shelters, and other programs.
- Communicate discrepancies in a knowledgeable and compassionate manner, including additional follow-up as needed.
- Prepare accurate weekly cash deposits for Boston programs
- Scan and deposit checks for all receivables, including a variable volume of donations.
- Maintain accurate petty cash, and provide petty cash services as needed.
- Match operating bank transactions to financial activity from various Society programs.
- Maintain timely data entry of operating bank transactions into financial software.
- Sort incoming mail and process outgoing mail on a back-up basis.
