Distinguishing Features of Work The Senior Management Analyst - Cash Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient management of the City's financial resources. This professional supervisory and technical position encompasses a variety of treasury functions, including cash management, investment oversight, revenue collection, and accounts receivable administration. The position also supervises treasury staff and coordinates the Licensing Office's activities. Working closely with the City Treasurer, this position operates with a high degree of independence for routine tasks while contributing to the strategic financial oversight of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cash management best practices, government accounting principles, and financial analysis to make impactful contributions to the City's financial health. Workdays and Hours - Monday - Friday - 8:00am - 5:00pm Bargaining Unit: Employee Council **Posting may close at any time ** Examples of Work Performed Manages the collection of revenue for the city, in coordination with operating departments.Coordinates accounts receivable efforts for the organization, including collections, aging, and write-offs.Participates in the investment of idle funds and reporting and compliance activities of the investment portfolio.Supervises treasury office staff and coordinates staff activities.Manages the disbursement of payroll and vendor payment, and the reconciliation of City bank accounts.Supports the City Treasurer and may assume some functions on an interim basis as needed.Prepares and reviews financial reports, including quarterly and annual financial reports.Completion of work assignments may require the operation of a vehicle.These are not intended to be all-inclusive. Other related duties may be assigned as needed. Requirements of Work Thorough knowledge of financial management fundamentals and best practices, including revenue and cash management, treasury operations, and financial reporting.Knowledge of fixed income investment concepts and internal controls.Experience with government accounting and auditing principles and practices.Ability to interpret and analyze financial information and provide recommendations.Ability to utilize ERP system software, as well as spreadsheet software (Excel).Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees, representatives of outside agencies, City officials, and the public.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.May require ability to acquire and maintain a valid Kansas driver's license.An employee shall not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace. Required Experience and Training Required Experience and Training Bachelor's degree in business administration.1 year of Supervisory experience, including overseeing staff and managing projects.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of a sponsorship.Applicants must attach a copy of their transcript to their application to be considered. Preferred Experience and Training Bachelor's degree in accounting, or finance.Government accounting coursework.Two years of experience in cash management, treasury office functions, or accounting of financial administration.1 year of experience in Governmental financial management, including budgeting or financial reporting.1 year of experience in accounting within a government setting.
