Position Summary:
The Cash Reconciliation Auditor is responsible for the monitoring the cash posting process, ensuring remits are posted in full, identifies root cause on posting issues, recommends and/or designs improvements.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
* Accountable for the cash reconciliation process from receipt of deposit to remit posting, ensuring any differences are identified and tracked.
* Calculate the unposted cash figures on a weekly basis, at minimum.
* Responsible for closing outside bank accounts by migrating them to the CBS bank account, with coordination from Finance and Systems teams.
* Investigate processes with payors that have sent an electronic remit without a corresponding bank deposit to post payment.
* With the coordination of Billing, ensure payors that send checks to the CBS receive an updated W-9 and bank letter directing them to the proper lockbox.
* Responsible for maintaining and enforcing process on pulling and posting zero pays and takebacks.
* Assist the team in organizing backup remit data (EOBs) and is the main point of contact for audit remit requests.
* Analyzes front-end delays and problems related to complete and accurate information needed for timely posting.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
* Associate degree required.
* Two years related revenue cycle experience, consulting in systems or training for data analytics.
Preferred:
* Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10
* Skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word, Window based applications, and 10 key calculator with high level of quality outcomes
* One to two years' experience in hospital financial services or patient service.
* Process Improvement, Training/Education, Reporting, Analytics, Excel, Cash Posting knowledge.
