Job Description:
By State law, all positions that work with children require all three CHILD CLEARANCES be obtained prior to the first day of work. You should allow 4-6 weeks to obtain all clearances. If you work for at least one month, we will reimburse for the cost of the clearances ($60.25) that are obtained foryou to work for us. Please see for more information.CASHIER- RECREATION CENTER (ICE RINK)REPORTS TO: ASSISTANT RECREATION DIRECTOR, ASSISTANT FACILITY MANAGER AND FACILITIES ASSISTANTPLEASE READ FIRST: This part time position works at the Recreation Center admission areas performing admission, registration, and customer service functions. Must be able to work 15-28 hrs./week, variable weekday shifts of 5-7 hours between 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Ability to also work evening and weekend shifts, as needed, preferred. Students who are unable to work between 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekdays will not qualify for this position.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Greets and assists the public.
  • Answers phone calls and provides information.
  • Manages admissions to facilities through appropriate admission policies and procedures.
  • Handles registrations, admissions including cash, check, and credit card payments through a point-of-sale system.
  • Balances the daily transactions.
  • Manages the daily facilities schedule.
  • Operates sound system and makes announcements.
  • Responds to emergency situations.
  • Assists with Skate Rental when needed.
  • Assists with special events as needed. Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Performs all other work as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn athletic scheduling software.
  • Able to function under pressure.
  • Knowledge of common computer programs and office machines, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work various shifts.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma/G.E.D. or currently enrolled in High SchoolESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL JOB FUNCTIONSHearing, seeing (close up and distance), standing, sitting, bending, hand movements, holding, lifting (10+ lbs.), waving arms, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, and feeling. Understand the speech of another person. Speak clearly so listeners can understand.Essential Mental Job Functions: Ability to concentrate on ice surface and rink areas and maintain accurate registration and financial transactions.
