Basic Job Functions: The Casting Tech is the casting area shift lead and has responsibilities in all aspects of the casting process including: leading the team to ensure safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the caster, developing the team, organizing shop activities and assisting the team as part of leadership. The qualified candidate must be willing to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as required. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications: - Demonstrated commitment to safety
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Previous Casting or Melt Shop experience
Preferred Qualifications: - Previous experience leading teams, including conflict resolution, coaching, mentoring, training, and relationship building
- Previous experience with maintaining equipment
