What We Need: We are looking for an experienced Category Manager, to join our team in Muscatine, Iowa! This role will strategically manage the procurement and sourcing activities for our indirect services within MRO & Facilities categories. Your goal will be to optimize cost savings, drive supplier performance, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality services to support our company's operations. This role reports to the Director of Indirect Procurement and has an opportunity to bring a high level of transformation, creativity and new thinking to the business. What You Will Do: This position provides exposure and a unique opportunity to work across all business units and interface with cross functional leaders, including but not limited:
  • Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies for indirect services under management, aligned with the overall procurement objectives and organizational goals.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met or exceeded.
  • Sourcing and Contracting: Lead the sourcing process for indirect services, including market research, supplier identification, RFP/RFQ management, bid evaluation, contract negotiation, and finalization.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify and execute cost optimization initiatives through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, contract negotiation, and process improvements.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks within the indirect services categories under management by ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards, as well as assessing supplier financial stability and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay updated on market trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies within the indirect services categories to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Supplier Diversity: Promote supplier diversity by actively seeking opportunities to engage diverse suppliers and supporting the company's diversity and inclusion initiatives.
What You Have: Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 4+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management, with a focus on indirect services.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing category strategies, driving cost savings, and managing supplier relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of indirect services categories, market dynamics, and best practices.
  • 20-25% travel required.
  • Hybrid work schedule (candidate must be willing to work on-site in Muscatine, IA 3-4 days a week).

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD)
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle.
