Category Manager, Outbound Licensing, Full-Time, Easton, PAGENERAL SUMMARY: Holistically manages category growth, creating product and retail development strategy grounded in consumer insights and marketplace trends.She/he identifies prospects, negotiates deals through contract and closure and nourishes business relationships to achieve annual growth targets. Provides direction to licenses, guiding their seasonal product line planning from concept through commercialization, and developing product extensions within category grants. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Licensing Sales
- Identifies prospects and maintains active pipeline of potential partners that meet strategic category objectives via prospecting, attending relevant trade shows and maintaining active network with key vendors in category.
- Negotiates terns and closes new deals/renewals to achieve year over year category growth targets.
- Pursues direct to retail partnerships in assigned categories.
- Category Management
- Conducts semiannual business reviews to ensure licensees are leveraging innovation in development, maximizing product grants and retail distribution channels, and licensees are on target to meet revenue forecasts.
- Directs seasonal line development and approval, adhering to internal approval process for licensees (ie. safety, quality, financial, packaging, promotional materials, displays, PR, etc.).Provides positive creative solutions to licensee development issues.
- Collaborate across internal Crayola departments to develop activation plans around licensed merchandise (i.e. PR, social media, advertising and events).
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- College Degree:BA, BS
- 5 years' experience in licensing, CPG, toy company or consumer marketing work
- Proven negotiating skills and developing, implementing into partner agreements
- Good organizational and planning skills with ability to manage diverse priorities and projects to meet aggressive timelines
- Strategic thinker with working knowledge of landscape/trends and ability to draw conclusions and identify key opportunities.
- Ability work diplomatically across a diverse cross-functional team to achieve goals.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent PC skills, Power Point, Excel, Word
- Travel 20%+
