Amazon is looking for a customer-obsessed, creative, goal-oriented, highly entrepreneurial and experienced Category Merchant Manager (CMM) to join the Grocery Partnerships Team.
Our team enables Amazon customers to shop the selection from grocery stores on Amazon.com and receive their order in 2 hours or less. In this role, you will innovate on behalf of customers and Grocery Partners and change the way people buy groceries. This is an exciting opportunity to take on ownership in a fast growing business and work largely autonomously in an entrepreneurial environment.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can build lasting relationships with future Grocery Partners, solve ambiguous problems, is able to switch gears quickly, and keep driving forward. You will be responsible for managing Grocery merchants and work with cross functional teams across business, operations, finance and program management. You will also have the opportunity to build new processes and implement scalable solutions that will grow with our business.
Key job responsibilities
- Managing a full P&L, including planning, forecasting and driving growth across their business
- Setting the goals and strategic direction for merchants and initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader business goals
- Generating and implementing big ideas to drive business improvement, innovation, and scale within their merchants and across the Grocery partnership business as a whole
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Operations, Marketing, CX, Program Management, and Finance to ensure processes are in place for flawless execution
- Communicating effectively to deliver through our internal and external partners, ensuring deadlines and profitability goals are met.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree and 3+ years of account management, vendor management, consulting, business development or applicable experience; preferably within e-commerce
High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
Exceptional written communication skills and a proven track record of delivering projects from concept to launch
Strong data extraction, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
Advanced Excel Skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in e-commerce, retail or with third party sellers,
Experience utilizing SQL.
Proven track record of innovation, regarding both new ideas and simplifying existing ones
Ability to work successfully with teams across the organization as well as external partners.
Meticulous attention to detail; the ability to juggle many tasks in parallel without lowering the quality bar.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $148,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
