Job Title: Catering Agent Location: OGG Department: Catering/Operations Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated and reliable Catering Agent to join our dynamic team. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of our catering services. The ideal candidatewill have strong organizational skills, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The role involves a variety of tasks including inventory management, equipment handling, and ensuring that our catering equipment and supplies are prepared and maintained properly. Caterer duties and responsibilities Caterers are responsible for cooking and serving meals at many different kinds of events. Their typical duties include:
  • Preparing and storing food safety before and during events
  • Setting up all tables and food service areas with chairs, linens and dishes
  • Serving food to guests at events
  • Cleaning up and tearing down the dining area by removing all tableware, linens, garbage and furniture
  • Creating menus according to a client's preferences and dietary needs
  • Visiting sites before events to assess the kitchen facilities and make necessary plans
  • Ordering any necessary supplies for events
  • Settling on prices and creating contracts for clients
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lift & Move Equipment: Safely lift and transport catering supplies, snack carts, and other equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Weekend Availability: Able to work weekends; schedule is subject to change based on catering needs and events.
  • iPad & Point of Sale (POS) Management:
    • Check in and out iPads and POS devices.
    • Sanitize and wipe down devices after use to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
  • Snack Cart Maintenance:
    • Break down and restock snack carts for upcoming events.
    • Ensure all items are organized and ready for distribution.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Count and track inventory of catering products and supplies on a daily basis.
    • Complete daily inventory logs and provide reports as required.
  • Receive & Stock Deliveries:
    • Receive all delivered items and properly store them in the designated areas.
    • Stack items according to type and storage requirements.
  • Storage Runs:
    • Perform regular storage runs to maintain organization and retrieve necessary items.
  • Catering Paperwork:
    • Complete necessary paperwork and logs for carts, deliveries, and inventory.
  • Cart Locking & Sealing:
    • Ensure that catering carts are locked and sealed after use to maintain security and product integrity.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Physical Requirements: Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform manual tasks as needed.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Must be available to work weekends and be adaptable to changing schedules based on event needs.
  • Technology: Comfortable handling iPads, POS devices, and basic inventory management tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accurate logs, track inventory, and ensure all items are properly stored and sealed.
  • Team Player: Must be able to work collaboratively with other team members, catering staff, and management.
  • Experience: Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or inventory management is preferred but not required.
Additional Information:
  • This position may require occasional evening or early morning shifts depending on event schedules.
  • Must adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including proper sanitation practices for equipment and facilities.
