  • Must possesses a valid, unexpired driver's license
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Check
  • Ability to communicate in written and/or verbal form

  • Ability to work with clients (students, employees, public) via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, phone calls, and/or emails

License/Certification RequiredEssential Job Functions
  • The Dishwasher ensures that the kitchen stays clean and organized.
  • Operation of dishwasher and other dishroom equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all items
  • Wash specific items by hand as needed
  • Organize and maintain clean equipment and ensure it gets put away in the appropriate location
  • Take garbage and trash to dumpster area
  • Daily washing of work areas, cooking equipment, walls and especially the floors
  • Other duties include box crushing, stocking of food products into dry storage and refrigerators/freezers, along with frying oil and can recycling.
  • Must be able to follow cleaning and sanitation procedures and other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
  • Assist with other housekeeping and janitorial duties as assigned within the Catering Kitchen and Grandview Ballroom
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in food preparation or service activities in a restaurant, country club, event venue, commercial kitchen or other hospitality space.
  • Knowledge of commercial dish machinery and cleaning chemicals
Work Schedule/Hours
  • 5 days a week, up to 40 hours. Schedule varies based on business need.
  • Some weekend or evening work may be required.
  • All Grandview Catering & Events employees are required to work special campus events as needed including football games and Commencement.
Number of Hours Per Week 40 Number of Months Per Year 11 Mandatory Staff No Physical Demands of Position
  • Ability to drive a catering truck.
  • Lifting items in excess of 40 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Stooping and bending to retrieve items from ovens, shelves, trucks, etc.
  • Sweeping and mopping area each day.
  • Cleaning equipment daily.
  • Standing in a constant fast paced environment for several hours.
  • Pushing and pulling carts and containers on and off the trucks and up and down elevators.
Hiring Range $15.00-$17.00 Pay will be commensurate with applicant competencies, budget, equity and market considerations.
