  • We are hiring immediately for a CATERING MANAGER position.
  • Location: TIAA Cref Dallas, 3965 Dallas Pkwy, Frisco, TX 76120. Note: online applications accepted only.
  • Schedule: Full Time; Typically Monday through Friday 8pm-4pm based on event schedule.
  • Details: The Catering Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the catering operation within the new Frisco building. This includes managing staff, coordinating event logistics, ensuring food quality and presentation, and maximizing revenue. 15% local travel based on the events since the client also has a satellite office located less than a mile away from the main building. Key responsibilities include:
    • Recruit, hire, and train catering staff.
    • Coordinate with clients to understand their specific needs and preferences.
    • Develop customized menus and pricing proposals.

    • Manage event logistics, including room setup, equipment rental, and vendor coordination.

    • Oversee food preparation, presentation, and service.

    • Ensure timely delivery and setup of catering orders.

    • Manage event budgets and track expenses.

    • Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations.

    • Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies.

    • Implement strategies to increase revenue and reduce costs.

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.

    • On-Site Considerations

      • High-Demand Corporate Catering: Target local businesses and corporations for weekday lunches, meetings, and special events.

      • Social Events: Cater to the growing residential population by offering services for weddings, birthdays, and other social gatherings.

      • Local Partnerships: Build relationships with local event planners, hotels, and venues to generate referrals and cross-promotional opportunities.

  • Requirement: Experience in catering and event planning. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and catering software.Salary: $65,000

Job Summary

Summary: As a Catering Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Catering Department in all duties including training new associates, overseeing event set-ups, and directing any temporary personnel in addition to their everyday assignments. You will ensure proper service to clients during events, including proper set-up, cleaning, and breakdown procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises all catering events.
  • Involved in catering events operations, including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and all facility-related activities.
  • Works with the Chef in creating menus.
  • Trains catering associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.
  • Tracks and monitors the labor and food cost for each event.
  • Communicates on various levels to include management, client, customer and associate levels; maintains excellent client relationships.
  • Assists in the responsibility for all foodservice-related activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of food service experience including 1 year at the management level.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
  • Catering experience is required.
  • Some knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
  • ServSafe Certification.
