Dish Food and EventsWe are looking for a creative, talented, passionate, punctual, detail oriented and strict pastry chef to join our culinary team. Dish is an off-premise catering company based in LIC. We cater to any style of event from drop off (pre packaged) event to full service plated weddings and gala's. As a pastry chef for Dish, you will need a variety of skills and experience such as baking, baking breads, plated desserts, mini bites, R&D, recipe creating, coaching, training, managing, cake decorating, technical piping and organizing your time and mise en place. Baking expertisePastry chefs need to be skilled in baking techniques, such as mixing, measuring, and controlling temperature. Attention to detailPastry chefs need to be precise when measuring, baking, and decorating. CreativityPastry chefs should be able to innovate new desserts and put their own twist on classic pastries. Time managementPastry chefs often work under tight deadlines and need to manage their time effectively. Physical staminaPastry chefs may need to stand for long hours and carry heavy bags of ingredients. Sensory skillsPastry chefs need to understand flavor profiles and how to balance ingredients. PassionPastry chefs should be passionate about their job. CuriosityPastry chefs should be open to trying new things and discovering new flavors. Risk-takingPastry chefs should be willing to take risks with their cooking and adjust recipes to get the desired outcome. SharingPastry chefs should share their work with others so they can continue to develop and evolve as a pastry chef.   • Maintaining cleanliness and participating in deep cleaning of any BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
  • Ensure that food preparation, refrigerators and storage areas meet the Department of Health and Dish's food safety and sanitation standards.
