Low and Slow Smokehouse is seeking a Catering Salesperson whose primary responsibility is to generate revenue and drive business growth for the catering department for Low and Slow Smokehouse-Smithfield. Your role involves promoting catering services, building relationships with clients, and coordinating events to ensure successful and memorable experiences. You will work closely with clients, event planners, chefs, pit masters, and other team members to create tailored catering packages that meet clients' needs and preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Business Development:

  • Actively seek out and engage potential clients for catering services.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Network and establish relationships with event planners, corporate clients, individuals, and other potential sources of catering business.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Consult with clients to understand their event requirements, preferences, and budget.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and offering suitable solutions.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the event planning process to ensure their needs are met.

Event Planning and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with clients to design customized catering menus and services that align with their event themes and objectives.
  • Coordinate with chefs and culinary teams to ensure menu offerings meet quality and presentation standards.
  • Manage event logistics, including setup, staffing, décor, and equipment rental, to ensure seamless execution of catering services.

Proposal and Contract Management:

  • Prepare and present detailed proposals to clients outlining catering services, menu options, pricing, and terms.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with clients, addressing any special requests or modifications.
  • Secure signed contracts and deposits to confirm bookings.

Upselling and Cross-Selling:

  • Identify opportunities to upsell additional services such as bar services, themed decorations, or entertainment options.
  • Suggest enhancements or additions to catering packages that align with clients' event visions.

Market Research and Competitor Analysis:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market demands to adapt catering services accordingly.
  • Use market insights to suggest innovative ideas and concepts that set your catering offerings apart.

Reporting and Performance Metrics:

  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, proposals, contracts, and sales activities.
  • Provide regular sales reports to management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably within the catering, hospitality, or event planning industries.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with event planning processes and catering logistics.
  • Proficiency in using Clover and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or a related field (preferred).
  • Must have a valid driver's license as this is a mobile position.

A successful Catering Salesperson combines sales acumen with a passion for creating memorable events. This role requires creativity, adaptability, and the ability to establish and nurture client relationships to ensure the growth and success of the catering business. Pay for this position is base pay plus commission based on monthly catering/event sales. Base pay is negotiable and depends on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
