THE VENUE Legends Hospitality is proud to Partner with Circle Line Cruises, New York's oldest provider of chartered sightseeing cruises, in delivering a premium hospitality experience to guests. In addition to daily cruises on six sailing vessels throughout the city, Circle Line hosts various special events cruises, including a New Year's Eve and Fourth of July celebration and charters for private parties and events. THE ROLE The Catering/ Events Supervisor is primarily responsible for the successful onsite execution of various events including internally produced, private, and special events. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Catering/ Events Supervisor position is responsible for overseeing set-up and clean-up for all banquet functions to provide guests with the best possible service. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with the planning, organizing and execution of all event functions.
  • Responsible for the inventory of equipment, small wares, disposables, and beverages.
  • Lead day-of-coordination and execution of all events (load-in, set up, execution, and load out)
  • Supervise warehouse team during the set-up and break-down of events.
  • Coordinate the movement of food, beverages, and equipment for all events.
  • Greet clients in charge and respond to requests.
  • Speak at pre-shift meetings prior to events to inform staff about event particulars and expectations.
  • Oversee general cleaning tasks using standard products as assigned to adhere to health standards.
  • Attend and document weekly event meetings with Sales Department
  • Assist with maintaining an exceptional relationship with our partners.
  • Check with Culinary team for any last-minute changes.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.
  • May be required to work extended and non-traditional hours (nights, weekends, & holidays as necessary)
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - customer-focused with a professional phone manner and ability to interact with a variety of clients
  • Ability to perform under pressure and problem solve quickly
  • Ability to interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards.
  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware and menu items.
  • Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Must be able to read, speak and write English Language in order to communicate with guests.
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds.
  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including: constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time.
