Location: Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OHPosition: Part-timeDuties:
- Lead and direct the choir and congregational singing during Catholic Mass and special services.
- Coordinate all musical selections and performances with the Catholic Service Chaplain.
- Organize and conduct weekly choir rehearsals, ensuring all music is prepared and rehearsed ahead of services.
- Provide musical support for special services, including Christmas, Easter, Holy Week, Ash Wednesday, and other liturgical events.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer musicians to maintain a vibrant and engaging music program.
- Set up and tear down equipment for rehearsals and services, ensuring instruments and materials are properly stored and maintained.
- Collaborate with chapel staff, volunteers, and other musicians to enhance the overall worship experience.
Requirements:
- Minimum of two years' experience as a musician and/or choir director in a Roman Catholic Church setting.
- Proficiency in singing, piano/keyboard playing, and leading congregational singing during Mass.
- Strong knowledge of Catholic liturgical music, hymns, and choral arrangements.
- Ability to read music and effectively lead choirs and musicians during live services.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage constructively with chapel staff, volunteers, and parishioners.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and executing musical elements of worship.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain appropriate dress and conduct that reflects the sacred environment of the chapel.
