Job Summary: Under general direction of the Cath Lab Manager and direct supervision of the PCC, perform patient examinations and related activities. Perform patient exams in accordance with established protocols. Assist the clinicians during a procedure. Circulates in/out of room during cases getting supplies/equipment as needed. Perform hemodynamic monitor activities. Maintain patient records as required. Assure that the patient's clinical history is complete. Complete associated paperwork and accession procedures. Perform QA/QC procedures for the imaging equipment PACS and prepare necessary documentation. Archive and complete patient examinations. Start IVs and/or administer contrast media. Removes arterial and or venous sheaths. Maintain and adhere to accepted sterile techniques and provide a clean environment within the examination area. Share emergency call as required. Knowledge base in the care of adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Transport patients as needed. Order supplies when required. Arrange for equipment maintenance when required. Assist in training student technologists when required. Demonstrates knowledge and skill to appropriately communicate and interact with patients, families, visitors and vendors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. . Accepts other responsibilities as are delegated by the manager/director or PCC to assure optimum patient care. - Demonstrate the technical aptitude to perform special procedure exams by executing various radiologic concepts to maximize performance. This includes: positioning, physiology, procedure preparation, and technical factors.
- Demonstrate the aptitude to modify technical factors to achieve desired imaging results and recognize complications/limitations associated with certain procedures and the ability to proactively identify and address these for optimum outcomes.
- Demonstrate the aptitude for assisting with all procedures in any needed role including but not limited to: operation of x-ray equipment, hemodynamic monitoring, and directly assisting physician at scrub table.
- Demonstrate technical aptitude for dealing with and troubleshooting multiple pieces of Cath lab equipment including but not limited to EKG monitor, hemodynamic monitors, procedure tables, hemochron, Doppler, avoximeter, cardiac/peripheral interventional devices, intra-vascular ultrasound/FFR, suctions, lasers, electro cautery
- Demonstrate the technical aptitude to maintain proper sterile techniques for procedures and ensures compliance with infection control procedures
- Demonstrates the technical aptitude to perform all quality controls on all imaging equipment as required and ensures all equipment is in safe working order prior to use.
- Demonstrates the ability to provide accurate and complete documentation of patient procedures with correct entry of charges at the time service is delivered

- Demonstrate the ability to safely minimize exposure to radiation with dosage adjustment and using shielding and distance
- Demonstrate the technical/cognitive ability to proficiently perform in the scrub role/RAD tech role on all basic Cath lab procedures including but not limited to: RHC/LHC, basic PCI, LINQ, IABP/Impella, Aortagram, closure devices, device prep.
Qualifications:Education/Skills Graduate of an approved AMA school of radiologic technology required.Work Experience: One or two years in special imaging modalities preferred.
