Strong Ready Mix is seeking CDL Drivers A or B / Ready Mix Drivers to join our concrete team. The Ready Mix Driver safely delivers ready mix concrete to various local locations. Whether you're a seasoned veteran having hauled thousands of yards of concrete or freight we have a truck driving job for you. If needed, you'll receive hands-on experience with one of our highly skilled Lead Drivers. Responsibilities - CDL Driver:
- Delivery of Ready Mix Concrete Products
- Work closely with dispatch, maintenance, and plant management to facilitate the flow of information required to provide good customer service
- Receive delivery ticket and follow instructions as directed
- Position truck under the batch plant to be loaded by the Batch Plant Operator/Plant Manager
- Operate truck to receive a load and evaluate slumps
- Maneuver truck on job site including attaching chutes to discharge material
- Complete all forms, reports, tickets, and required paperwork.
- Prioritize safety throughout the operation in accordance with DOT and company policies
- Operate ready-mix trucks in accordance with all federal, state, city, and company regulations.
- May be required to operate front-end loader
- Assist in maintenance and upkeep of yard, plant, and office
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections; document and report vehicle condition at beginning and end of each shift
- Check all vehicle fluid levels daily and add fluids if necessary
- Clean the outside of the vehicle and chutes to ensure the absence of concrete build-up at the end of each shift
- May assist mechanics in vehicle repair and change tires as necessary
Qualifications/Requirements - CDL Driver:
- Must be 25 years of age
- Must have 2 years minimum driving CDL Experience
- Must possess a commercial driver's license (CDL Class A or B), have a valid DOT physical or pass a company provided physical, and pass a drug screen
- Must have a clean, safe driving record, and excellent driving skills
- Must understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature relating to products and vehicles and take on those instructions to complete tasks
- Must take pride in your truck's appearance
- Promote coworker, customer, and public relations with a positive attitude in the performance of duties
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises
- Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel
- Must be able to speak, read, and have a working knowledge of the English language
- Perform physical activities such as climbing a ladder to inspect loads of ready mix concrete, hanging mixer chutes, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands
