This position is responsible for safely and responsibly transporting students, faculty, and staff to and from predetermined destinations on The University's Golden Tiger Transit System route.Essential Job Duties
- Perform vehicle pre-route inspection prior to departure and post-route inspection after completion of route
- Safely transport passengers
- Complete assigned designated Tuskegee Golden Tiger Transit bus route on schedule while stopping at all stops
- Assist as needed with embarking and disembarking
- Report all mechanical issues to the service manager immediately
- Obey all traffic laws
- Maintain a clean and sanitary bus at all times
- Ensuring that the truck has sufficient fuel at all times
- Informing clients and TU Management of potential delays
- Reporting all vehicle-related issues for urgent attention
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
- A valid State of Alabama CDL License with Class A, B, C and Endorsement P License pursuant to §32.6.-49.10 Code of Alabama, 1975
- 5 years professional driving on the road (preferred)
- Air Brake certification (preferred)
- Less than 3 points on your license (preferred)

- Experience operating similar vehicles for work purposes
- Comfortable using GPS equipment
- Ensuring that you are always fit to maneuver the truck
- Compliance with all road and transport rules
- Ability to drive safely, irrespective of the weather or time of day
- High quality time management interpersonal, and attention to detail skills
- Availability to occasionally work nights and weekends, if needed
