Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Cellular Systems Test Engineer to join our Wireless Connectivity team. This team focuses on delivering cutting-edge wireless technologies across Tesla's Bot and Vehicle platforms, including the Cybercab. In this role, you will be responsible for the architecture, design, and validation of LTE/5G-based solutions for telematics systems. The position requires close collaboration with cross functional teams and external suppliers, with an emphasis on independent problem solving and creative solutions for complex design challenges. You will thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines, driving high-quality results under pressure.
Responsibilities - Develop comprehensive end-to-end test plans, procedures, and scripts for Tesla's cellular protocol stack across various platforms, including Cybercab and Tesla Bot
- Collaborate with software development and manufacturing teams to provide testing support and ensure seamless integration
- Investigate and resolve issues reported by QA teams and customer feedback, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of test automation frameworks and data analysis tools
- Analyze telemetry data to identify fleet-wide issues and areas for optimization.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, implementing best practices within the team and across the organization
- Lead and manage key tasks to completion, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products with meticulous attention to detail
Requirements - Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering with a focus on Wireless Communication, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience in the Cellular industry
- Strong understanding of 5G, LTE, UMTS, CDMA, and GSM technologies
- In-depth knowledge of 3GPP protocols, particularly LTE and LTE-Advanced features
- Experience with field trials, IoT, IODT, or related testing environments
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (Ethernet, TCP/IP, etc.)
- Proficiency in Python, adb, Shell scripting, or similar scripting languages
- Experience with Cellular test equipment (e.g., R&S CMW 500, Anritsu) and developing test automation frameworks
- Experience in Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including continuous integration and code maintainability
- Familiarity with embedded interfaces (e.g., UART, I2C, I2S, SPI, CAN, PCIe) is a plus

Expected Compensation$120,000 - $252,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
