The ABA seeks a team-oriented individual to provide administrative support for the entity that leads the ABA's outreach to bar associations and their leaders across the country. This individual will support efforts to enhance the capacity of non-profits to serve the legal profession, enhance the public's access to justice, and to uphold the rule of law. The position's principal responsibility is to serve as the registrar for the ABA's flagship program, the Bar Leadership Institute, and will also assist with the division's consulting, clearinghouse and publication programs.Job Summary
  • Serves on the Bar Leadership Institute program planning team
  • Serves as the BLI Registrar and the primary point of contact for bar organization elected leaders and executive staff, as well as program speakers and sponsors
  • Participates in the center's consulting program by helping with data collection and analysis, and process development and scheduling
  • Helps to maintain and develop the center's clearinghouse, and periodically fields information requests from bar leaders and executive staff
  • Supports the center's purchasing and billing functions
  • Contributes to the center's trendspotting function by reading bar news and journals
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
  • Provides programmatic support that may include, but not be limited to, editing, proofing, elementary desktop publishing, conducting basic research, supporting members and committees, supporting marketing activities, and meeting planning.
Required Education, Qualifications, Experience
  • Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or university preferred.
