DescriptionThe student Office Assistant's primary responsibility is to respond in a professional and courteous manner to internal professional staff and students by providing accurate and timely information and services. Assistants will also respond to telephone, email, and in-person inquiries regarding campus information, providing solutions to student challenges, and help with other concerns as needed:
- Assist students who call, email, and come into the office as needed
- Maintain the front desk and student lounge - keep organized and handle materials as needed
- Act as communication liaison between students and professional staff
- Handle and distribute all packages ordered for student clubs, organizations, programs & events via the Center for Student Engagement package system
- Assist professional staff with on-campus programs and events including set-up and clean-up
- Assist professional staff with various administrative tasks
- Attend bi-weekly whole team meetings and maintain consistent communication with supervisor
- Work approximately 6-8 hours per week
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Must be able to handle confidential information in a discreet manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable and patient with visitors
- Office experience a plus
- Ability to work independently
- Strong customer service and organizational skills
