The ideal candidate for this position enjoys learning and uses curiosity to deepen their skills in evidence-based clinical practices.WHAT YOU WILL DO: Under the direction of the Associate Director of Outpatient Counseling Services and within the limitations of agency policy, the incumbent shall execute the following duties:•From designated locations (throughout Hampton Roads to include but not limited to Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Suffolk) during day, afternoon, & evening hours provide direct clinical counseling as well as psychoeducational groups to a diversified caseload to include individuals, families, marital counseling, parent/child counseling, etc.•Performs tasks related to direct practice such as navigating the electronic health record, writing progress notes, assessments, 90-day reviews, discharge summaries.•Providing case management functions such as making referrals to other agencies, preparing monthly reports, and testifying in court as indicated.•Collaborate and coordinate with the caregiver, physician, psychiatrist, case manager, and all other disciplinary treatment team members as needed to provide the best care to clients.•Attend weekly clinical groups, supervision, and administrative meetings.•Provide services via telehealth platform, as required.•Participate in best practice and evidence-based clinical training with the goal of obtaining certifications in multiple treatment modalities.•Utilizes a variety of treatment modalities according to the requirements of the caseload.•Other duties as assigned.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES:•A master's degree in social work and is eligible to seek supervision for (LCSW) licensure in the state of Virginia; or a master's degree in counseling and eligible to seekThe Up Center is committed to partnering with children, families, and communities to improve lives and outcomesthrough prevention, intervention, and support services.supervision for (LPC) licensure in the state of Virginia; or a master's degree in marriage and family therapy and is eligible to seek supervision for (LMFT) licensure in the state of Virginia.•Knowledge of principles and practices of professional counseling and or social work, including case work methods and techniques.•Knowledge of the functions of social service agencies.•Ability to work effectively with other professional disciplines.•Communication skills, including the ability to write case records, letters, and reports.•Must be highly organized and detail oriented.•Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.•Must meet background check requirements.•Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice and possess a valid driver's license.•Must have and maintain a working cell phone.•Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates.Salary Description $48,000
