General purpose of the job

Responsible for managing all aspects of dispatch operations within a centralized areas from order placing to the delivery of ready mix concrete. Ensures production and delivery efficiencies and best in class customer service. Develops relationships with all stakeholders and communicates needed information among all levels of the organization. Manages the daily operation of the dispatch office along with scheduling start up and shut down of plants, drivers and trucks. Coordinates daily workload with plant personnel within a centralized area. Understands, implements, and maintains the correct mix design for jobs submitted. Maintains complete and accurate documentation of records, reports and sales.

Individual accountabilities

* Manages the daily operations of the dispatch office including overseeing the work of dispatchers (within a centralized area), managing the truck fleet and directing drivers to and from the job site to insure timely delivery of concrete and/or materials to customers. Directs area personnel as how to schedule Mixer Operators for upcoming jobs, including when they begin and end.

* Confer with customers or sales team to address questions, problems, or requests for service or equipment.

* Manages the daily ordering of raw materials for concrete for all plants within a centralized area and schedule operatiional activities.

* Supervise the work of dispatchers to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems.

* Schedule or dispatch workers, equipment, or service vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications or needs.

* Ensures each job order has the correct raw material mix design according to the specifications submitted by the customer. Reports any rejected loads to the Operations and Division Manager. Coordinate any returned concrete with respective plant manager to resell or dispose.

* Maintains the mix design inventory including developing and implementing new mix designs, adjusting current mix designs and ensuring the correct mix design is used according to the job's specifications.

* Encourages a positive working relationship between the dispatch office and area personnel to ensure customers' jobs are serviced according to job specifications. Maintains appropriate discipline and compliance with all applicable rules and policies. Conducts employee performance reviews, hires employees and administers discipline and trains dispatchers as needed.

* Oversee all communications within specifically assigned territories. Relay information between all parties involved. Monitor personnel or equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules.

* Encourages a positive working relationship with customers to ensure their jobs are properly serviced; including identifying serving issues and resolving customer disputes as they arise. Conducts an assessment to meet quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Education

Associate Degree or Certificate in concrete.

Technical knowledge and certifications

* Two year degree from a community college. College degree is preferred.

* Working knowledge of concrete products, production processes and local area.

* Must be computer literate; Proficient in MS office suite preferred.

* 5+ years progressive experience in construction with exposure to:

* Strong leadership and management skills with proven team oriented and team-building skills of managing through influence.

* Equivalent experience in a dispatch environment, preferably dispatching a perishable product.

Area of experience

5+ years progressive experience in construction.

Languages

English: C2: Advanced - Native

Annual Salary Range From: $73,200.00 to $91,500.00
