Southwestern University, located in Georgetown, Texas has an immediate opening for a Central Plant Operator. This position works 40 hours a week, shift work (including weekends and holidays) while maintaining contact with the switchboard operator and handling Facilities Management emergency calls that come in after normal hours of operation. This position reports to the Supervisor of Central Plant and includes the University's full benefit package. This is a full-time, fully benefited, non-exempt position.
Duties:
* Chiller operations, along with monitoring building environments.
* Conducts testing analysis of water for cooling towers.
* Closes loop hot and chill water systems, swimming pools, fountains and treats with chemicals as required.
* Prepares and maintains charts, records and analyzes data obtained.
* Operates computerized energy management system.
* Operates and monitors chillers, cooling towers, boilers, pumps, and related equipment's.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirement:
* High school diploma or GED.
* General operating knowledge of chillers, mechanical equipment, boilers and air conditioning systems.
* A minimum of one year of experience in central plant operator/mechanic environment.
* Possess good oral and written communication skills and be able to follow oral and written instructions.
* Ability to lifts heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to work both independently or without close supervision.
* Ability to work as a member of a team.
* Current valid Texas driver's license in good standing is required.
