Job Description:
The purpose of this position is to provide customer service and support to Central Processing Unit (CPU) operations. Incumbent works directly with CPU Management to ensure critical supplies are readily available and PAR levels are set adequately. Incumbent is also responsible for adding and removing CPU supplies to and from our perpetual inventory to supplement fast moving items from depleting and becoming outdated, and notifies CPU staff of any supply changes, IE, back orders, overstock, substitute and discontinued products and recommending permanent replacement products in conjunction with the Purchasing Department. Incumbent must independently ensure that tasks are timely prioritized and that all shift - assigned tasks are completed. Special assignments are to be completed if/when regularly-scheduled tasks are completed, therefore incumbent must be self-motivated and in sync with co-workers on project status. Primarily assigned to work the hospital operating departments, the incumbent singularly represents the entire department. Therefore, the individual must serve as a technical expert and perform tasks and posses overall skills and knowledge regarding: Central Processing supplies operating room medical supplies, patient equipment; patient care organizational information and the resources to draw upon; overall Central Processing Unit general functions.Apply By October 12 , 2024Minimum Qualifications
  • Extensive experience with ordering and stocking Operating Room supplies.
  • Experience using Operating Room instrumentation, equipment and knowing their applications and suitable substitutions.

Department OverviewCentral Processing is one unit within Perioperative Services that supports operating rooms and procedural areas by cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing surgical instrumentation and equipment, flexible and ridged scopes, and case-picking equipment. The Central Processing Unit also supports Patient Care Services and the Primary Care Network: within the health system by cleaning, disinfecting reusable equipment and the cleaning, disinfecting and sterilization of surgical instrumentation used by these services. The central processing unit also cleans and restocks all emergency crash carts; first responder bags, airway boxes and ICU transport bags for the Health System. The Central processing unit manages fiscal, materiel, and human resources to support the planning and coordination of surgical care and other patient care in the hospital and clinics. Responsibilities are focused on the technical aspects of cleaning, disinfecting, inspecting, sterilizing and putting together functional instruments and equipment for surgical services. Other responsibilities are disinfecting, cleaning and reassembling equipment i.e., ventilators and other patient care equipment.P osition Information
