The Central Service/Sterile Processing Instructor is responsible for planning, organizing, and operating the Central Service/Sterile Processing curriculum designed to prepare students for certification and employment in Central Service/Sterile Processing. The successful candidate will be able to foster an inclusive and equitable working and learning environment, instructing a diverse population of students. This posting specifically recruits on-call substitutes. Duty: Provide classroom and clinic floor instruction utilizing a variety of teaching techniques to prepare students for licensure and entry-level employmentTasks include:* Create, implement, and modify curriculum as required to meet learning outcomes.* Maintain and manage classroom environment, equipment, tools and supplies.* Create and maintain an atmosphere of professionalism and mutual respect with students.* Plan, organize and arrange student placement in clinical sites to maximize learning opportunities.* Perform clinical site visits for the purpose of on-going students evaluations utilizing direct observation and discussion with clinical staff.* Model professionalism and employability skills.* Maintain accurate records.* Maintain a safe environment through instruction, policy and continuous evaluation of environment.* Provide career guidance and job placement assistance.* Assess and provide feedback on student learning, submitting grades on time* A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.* Must be certified as either a Central Service Technician or Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician through either IAHCSMM or CBSPD.* A minimum of three years of current experience (within the last five years) in Central Service/Sterile Processing.* Current First Aid/CPR training.* Current Blood Borne Pathogens training.* Associate's degree or higher.* Previous teaching experience or teachers training leading to proficiency in instructional methodology, curriculum design and program planning.* Experience teaching in an on-line environment.* Familiarity with and commitment to the use of Open Educational Resources (OER's).Application Instructions* Complete application* Upload cover letter describing your skills and experience, and how they relate to the Minimum and Preferred Qualifications of this position* Upload resume* Upload unofficial transcripts of the highest earned degree.* Complete Supplemental QuestionsAll offers of employment at Clover Park Technical College are contingent upon successful completion of background checks which include criminal history and sexual misconduct information requirements.
