CENTRALIZED TRANSPORTATION DISPATCH - LOGISTICS - CORPORATE OFFICE (AUSTIN, MN OR WILLMAR, MN)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as dispatch operations liaison between Hormel enterprise and motor carrier partners.
- Coordinate freight transportation based upon ship location.
- Analyze order quantity, destination, weight, delivery date and product type to determine consolidation and efficiency via transportation management systems.
- Source carriers based upon cost, service reliability, equipment availability and past performance history.
- Create solutions to challenges that effect on time delivery to customers and distribution networks.
- Able to work overtime when required and potential weekend rotation.
- Miscellaneous projects as assigned by CT management to fulfill needs of department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Demonstrated dependability due to transactional customer service requirements for this position.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills: ability to communicate with clarity and diplomacy with time sensitive/challenging issues.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Proven ability to initiate appropriate action independently.
- Proven ability to multitask with a high degree of accuracy.
Preferred
- Blue Yonder Transportation Management System (TMS) or alternate TMS experience, and or motor carrier dispatch experience.
- Proficiency in order processing systems.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to learn and use custom computer programs.
- Experience with mainframe/WMS systems.
