JOB DETAILS:The University of Wisconsin-Stout is seeking an energetic self-starter to support the administration and program management of credit-bearing professional upskilling offerings, currently known as professional certificates. As Wisconsin's Polytechnic University, professional certificates empower students and working professionals to advance their education and career development. Our university provides a wide array of graduate and undergraduate certificates across diverse fields and disciplines. We anticipate growth in learning opportunities that will help students expedite their professional development and upskilling. This role will collaborate with faculty and staff to continuously improve and align the application, tracking, and completion processes, ensuring an exceptional experience for students.The successful candidate will contribute to the development, implementation, administration, coordination, and evaluation of the University's professional upskilling offerings.A key part of the coordinator's role is to collaborate with multiple academic programs to ensure effectiveness in departmental and university goals regarding offerings. This is a full-time, 12-month annual position with an anticipated start date in January 2025. - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Two years of related experience in program coordination or management
- Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently and as part of a team environment
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail, proofreading, and editing skills.
Highly Desired/Preferred
- Experience with database systems (e.g., Access Stout, Image Now, etc.)
- Experience with credential management
- Experience with continuing professional education and development programs
- Ability to understand and use basic statistics and maintain a budget
*RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the Assistant Provost for Graduate Studies and internal/external stakeholders relating to undergraduate and graduate certificate management
- Utilize independent judgment regarding the implementation, promotion, and evaluation of multiple certificate offerings, initiatives, and/or events
- Identify program success needs, contribute to the development of unit workflows, coordinate schedules, and secure resources for meetings, events, and interviews
- Coordinate program components, evaluate program effectiveness, and provide recommendations for improvement
- Oversee day-to-day activities of certificate offerings and resolve issues by exercising discretion to meet unit goals
- Evaluate all administrative aspects of the certificate program including applications to foster enrollment growth and student success. This includes institutional partnership work to analyze applications, track retention and student completion with a focus on process improvement, track consistency or processes and recommend how best to optimize the student experience in all certificate offerings
- Build collaborative and sustain partnerships across the university
- Engage with university stakeholders and prioritize customer service excellence
