Job Overview:

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Certified Athletic Trainer.

This position is full time, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $28.05 - $39.60/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities:

The Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC) will work under the supervision of the physician, the Athletic Trainer will aid in quality orthopedic care and treatment of patients.

Provide athletic training services in sports health and medicine clinics to include; orthopedic evaluation, therapeutic exercise teaching and demonstration, assist with coordination of care, and assist health care providers in other needs during clinic.

Performs all aspects of clinical practice, including being responsible for evaluation and treatment of athletes according to standardized techniques, departmental standards, and age appropriate guidelines.

Provides patient and family education and maintains patient confidentiality.

Demonstrates appropriate clinical decision making in all aspects of clinical practice and determines proper equipment usage, application, and body position/mechanics in the administration of treatment. Is competent in usage of all equipment/modalities standard in the practice of athletic training.

Provide consultation visits in the rehabilitation setting in conjunction with rehabilitation staff for return to sport recommendations.

Complete all appropriate clinical and medical documentation of all care provided.

Qualifications:

EducationBachelors degree in Rehabilitative related field REQUIRED.Athletic Training Degree requires with NATA Certification.

Experience

3 Years experience athletic training experience REQUIRED, 1 Year Pediatric experience PREFERRED.3-5 years athletic training experience.

Certification & LicensureBoard Certification REQUIRED
