We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to support a young man with an intellectual disability and seizure disorder. As a Support Staff Professional you will provide direct care and support to this individual to ensure his safety and well-being.
Responsibilities:
Assist the individual with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Assist with administering medication as prescribed by a healthcare professional
Monitor and respond to seizure activity, as needed
Assist with meal preparation and feeding, as necessary
Accompany the individual to appointments and activities outside of the home to become integrated in his community
Assist with maintaining a clean and safe living environment
Document daily activities and report any concerns or changes in the individual's condition to Common Law Employer
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience working with individuals with seizure disorders and intellectual developmental disabilities preferred
Valid driver's license and ability to drive individuals to appointments or activities
First aid and CPR certification is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
