Salary:$20.22 / per hourThe Home Health Aide (HHA) is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Therapist. The HHA performs various personal care services, as necessary, to meet the patient's needs. The HHA provides service in accordance with Maxim's philosophy, standards and policies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Observes and documents patient condition and reports any changes, to the assigned nurse supervisor.Communicates in a constant, clear, and effective way with the client, family/caregiver and officeResponsible for assisting patient with and per plan of care, the following;BathsBack rubsOral hygieneShampoosChanging bed linenDressing and undressingSkin care to prevent breakdownToileting activitiesKeeping patient's living area clean and orderly, as appropriatePlanning and preparing nutritious mealsFeedingIncontinence carePractice basic infection control standardsChanging the patient's position in bed or wheelchairTaking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)Safe transfer and ambulation techniquesExercise according to the plan of carePerforming range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency)Self-administration of medicationPatient's laundryMeeting safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.)Observation and teaching of home safety practicesRecognition of an emergency situation and knowledge of emergency management proceduresPractices within scope of certificate/licenseMust follow patients plan of care and complete all tasks assignedAdherence to Maxim's policies and procedures, documentation, care procedures, and standards of personal and professional boundaries and conductAbility to live by Maxim's company-wide commitment to quality and competent patient careResponsible for completing all assigned trainings in a timely mannerPerforms any other duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:Meets all training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws when applicableAbility to read, follow written instructions and document care givenPossess and maintains current CPR certification in accordance with state regulationPPD or chest x-ray if applicableSuccessful completion of Maxim screening examinationsParticipation and completion of Maxim's competency programMust meet all federal, state, and local requirementsAbout Maxim Healthcare ServicesMaxim Healthcare Services has been making a difference in the lives of our patients, caregivers, employees and communities for more than 30 years.
