The Certified Maintenance Technician will be expected to coordinate and complete all work orders as assigned. In particular the Certified Maintenance Tech. will be expected to perform routine maintenance and repairs of all HVAC, boiler, heating, refrigeration, water, plumbing, energy and electrical systems. The Certified Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for general maintenance including but not limited to repairs on toilet facilities; replacement of lamps and cleaning of light fixtures; replacement of ceiling tile; minor repairs to floors or furniture, maintaining, repairing or replacing door hardware; maintenance painting in equipment rooms, cooling tower or other building facilities; replacement of filters in HVAC equipment; general cleaning in mechanical spaces; cleanup of equipment in engine room and shop; miscellaneous handyman work requiring the use of hand tools Minimum Qualifications1. High School Diploma or GED required along with a minimum of four years of vocational training or experience as a maintenance technician. Must currently hold one of the following: journeyman HVAC license, journeyman electrician license, journeyman plumber license or Millwright certification.2. Demonstrated ability to communicate and apply craft techniques, processes and principles; ability to use independent decision-making judgment concerning maintenance and repairs; ability to apply shop mathematics and to interpret written instructions; spatial discrimination; form perception eye-hand coordination; and finger and hand manual dexterity.3. Valid State Vehicle Operator's LicenseHold or be able to qualify for other certificates or licenses as may be required by federal, state or city governmentPhysical Requirements:Position may require moderate to extensive stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions, along with some combination of climbing and balancing; may be subject to sitting for prolonged periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
