A School in Manhattan is currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join their growing Family Medicine team.About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Schedule: Mondays to Fridays
- Hours: 8am - 4pm
- EMR: eClinicalWorks (ECW)
- Patient Population: Pediatrics and Adults
Responsibilities:The Certified Medical Assistant will:
- Perform Insurance Verifications and Register Patients.
- Obtain and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiratory rate, blood pressure, height, weight, hearing and vision test.
- Interview patient to obtain clinical and pertinent social history.
- Ensure chart is complete and up to date before patient sees provider.
- Ensure that any laboratory or screening test ordered at the last visit is scanned into the chart and available for provider to review.
- All point of care testing appropriate for scope of practice as Medical Assistant including, but not limited to, EKGs and blood draws, hemoglobin, fasting blood sugar, etc.
- Perform urine dipstick analysis.
- Assist in efficient patient flow by preparing patients for examination and rooming patient.
- Assist the provider during the patient's examination.
- Follows up on missed appointments through telephone contacts and correspondence.
- Ensures that rooms are cleaned between patients at the end of the day in compliance with OSHA.
- Maintains work area, exam rooms, and supplies.
- Maintains confidentiality of patients' medical record.
Qualifications:
- Certified as a Medical Assistant
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- CPR Certified
- Bilingual Spanish / English
Desired Skills:
- Experience working within a community health center.
