Overview

Certified Medical Assistant

Full time: 32 hours per week

Schedule: Sunday through Wednesday 9-5 OR Wednesday through Saturday 9-5

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Location: 10514 Oberrender Rd, Needville, TX 77461, On-Site

Join us at Fulshear as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at our residential treatment center and transitional living program in Needville, TX where our team of Therapists and Recovery Counselors offer treatment, guidance, and support to drive anxiety, depression, and suicide rates to all-time lows. Combining different types of therapy, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, equine-assisted therapy, family and individual therapy, and more, Fulshear is focused on creating healthy, influential and strong women who know how to take care of themselves, are a force for good in their own lives and the lives of others, and have a positive influence over others. Using attachment and trauma focused modalities, family systems work, life skills, and identity development; our young adults to successfully live beyond trauma and attachment wounds. Our location serves women+ 18 to 28 in person at our beautiful 34-acre ranch just outside of the Huston, TX area.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing:

  • Follow up and assist with scheduling medical appointments, communicate with registered nurse and staff regarding implementation of physician's orders.
  • Collect urine drug screens as needed.
  • Check the weights and vital signs of clients monthly and as needed.
  • Keep medical and medication records updated.
  • Work with pharmacies to ensure medications are accurate and available to clients.
  • Work with nursing staff and clients to accurately arrange medication for home passes and discharges.
  • Communication with treatment teams
  • Distribute medications at designated times and as needed.
Qualifications

What we'll need from you:

  • Current CMA Certification or LVN license
  • One year nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Proficient in time management, assertiveness, problem solving, and self-motivated.
  • Knowledge of standard medical terminology and technique, legal charting procedure and requirements, and medications.
  • Skill in using nursing tools and equipment, as well as assessing the physical condition of the client.
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Skill in communicating medical situations accurately to clients, parents and co-workers.
  • Ability to use Microsoft software, other computer programs and to navigate the local network.
  • *To comply with specific program needs, this position has a bona fide occupational qualification (BFOQ) that requires the hiring of a female candidate. The duties of this role involve intimate visual and physical interactions with female clientele.*
