Seeking a certified medical assistant (CCMA) for full time days M-F, 7am-3pm, and 2 full-time night shift CCMAs, M-Su, 7p -7a to assist with observed non-controlled medication administration, lab specimen procurement, admissions intake, clerical tasks, appointment scheduling, possible patient transport to and from hospitals and medical appointments. National certification and current CPR for Healthcare required; clean driving record with for hire (F) endorsement preferred. Pay rate $16.00-$18.00/hour. This position requires an understanding of the facility's treatment program and philosophy. Individual must have a working knowledge of alcoholism, drug abuse and dual diagnoses. Is responsible for maintaining systematic means of ascertaining that clients are safe, participating in the program and following facility behavior model for clients.Responsible To: Director of NursingSupervision:- is provided through:1. Facility monitoring activities2. Direct observation3. Staff meetings/inservices4. Individual meetings as needed5. Disciplinary and grievance procedures6. Annual performance appraisalQualifications:1. Education - High school graduate or equivalent with some training in a medical setting (CAN, LPN, M.A., Nurses Aid, MT).2. Experience - Knowledge/experience working with clients who are chemically dependent preferred.3. Certifications - CPR4. Licenses - None required.5. Special Requirements - Knowledge of 12 step recovery programs.6. Age/Gender Specifics - Ability to work with male and female, adult (18-over) substance abuse/dual diagnosed population.Job Responsibilities:1. Assists with scoring; COWS and CIWA2. Assists with routine and Q4H vitals3. Assists with the passing of scheduled and stat narcotic and non-narcotic medications4. Assists with patient safety and maintaining a clean living environment5. Actively and compassionately interacts with patients to encourage engagement in treatment after completion of detoxification6. Assists in patient compliance within the programJob Expectations:1. MT will adhere to delegated duties from RN's/LPN's2. MT will follow organizational policy and procedures with regard to patient information protection, including alcohol-drug patient confidentiality3. MT will complete pre-admission vitals, breathalyzer, and UDS's4. MT will record patient observations and activities in patient records accurately and timely5. MT maintain current CPR certificationPositions Supervised: NoneWorking Environment:Office space is provided by the facility with materials, equipment and supplies necessary to perform assigned tasks.Physical/Emotional Demands/Working Conditions:Work is ambulant and sedentary as well as occasional physical exertion (lifting 30 or more pounds, walking, standing, etc.) Must be able to support client weight in case of emergency situation or client disability requiring assistance in walking, standing, etc. Must exhibit ability to display coping skills to deal with multiple duties and priorities. Must exhibit good verbal, written, and observation skills. Risk of exposure to infections and contagious/blood borne diseases. Exposed to varying and unpredictable situations (i.e., client behavior). Subject to work schedule and shift change.A background check and drug screen will be completed before hire.
