Position Overview:

Pride Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This is a 40-hour per week, 13-week contract position offering guaranteed hours. This opportunity is ideal for medical assistants looking to provide exceptional patient care and work in a dynamic clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and prepare patients for office visits, exams, and procedures.
  • Collect and document vital signs, medical history, and other patient data.
  • Assist healthcare providers with medical treatments, exams, and procedures.
  • Perform phlebotomy, administer medications, and assist with diagnostic tests.
  • Ensure exam rooms are properly stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain patient records and update information in electronic medical records.
  • Ensure sterilization and maintenance of medical instruments.
  • Assist with patient registration, scheduling appointments, and coordinating referrals.
  • Provide after-care instructions and patient education materials as directed.
  • Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory protocols.
  • Assist with clinic safety, quality improvement initiatives, and inventory management.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through an accredited organization (AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA).
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of full-time experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills; proficiency with electronic medical records; ability to perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy and administering medications.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
