Certified Medical Assistant | MSK Long Island LocationsExciting Opportunity at MSK: Join our team as a Medical Assistant and be a key member of the patient care team in the outpatient oncology setting! Work closely with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to deliver an exceptional patient experience.Role overview:You will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical practice. This position involves a dynamic blend of clinical and administrative responsibilities, including assisting patients, performing vital sign measurements, preparing for and assisting in medical procedures, and managing patient flow.Key Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent, with graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and relevant specialized certifications.National Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or registration by a recognized credentialing body such as:Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical AssistantsRegistered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical TechnologistsCertified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through National Healthcare AssociationNational Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency TestingCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.Demonstrated strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.Basic proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and email systems.Previous experience in a medical assistant role within an outpatient setting is preferred.Familiarity with OSHA standards and multi-specialty experience in a high-volume setting is advantageous.Core Skills:Clinical Skills: Proficient in taking vital signs, performing electrocardiograms (EKGs), assisting with physical exams and procedures, and managing patient specimens.
