We are looking to hire a certified medical assistant, LPN, RN, in our busy, multi-location orthopedic practice. This position will require travel to our Littleton and Franconia offices. www.thealpineclinic.comMEDICAL ASSISTANTFull TimePOSITION SUMMARYDEPARTMENT: THE ALPINE CLINIC - ORTHOPEDICS Littleton and FranconiaJOB TITLE: MEDICAL ASSISTANTEMPLOYMENT TYPE: FULL-TIMEFLSA: NON-EXEMPTJOB OVERVIEW:We are looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate medical assistant to join our busy orthopedic practice. The medical assistant works closely with our doctors and advanced practicing providers to ensure smooth and efficient clinical operations. This position includes both clinical and administrative duties to help provide patients with the best care possible. With four locations some travel is required.PERSONAL QUALITIES:Strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and a positive, patient-centered attitude.CLINICAL DUTIES:
  • Prepare patients for medical examinations and assist healthcare providers during exams.
  • Measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, height, and weight.
  • Assist with minor surgical procedures, wound care, and bandaging.
  • Sterilize medical instruments and maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
  • Communicate treatment instructions and provide basic patient education on medication and care.
  • Remove sutures and castings.
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage calendars for healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and relay messages to the healthcare team.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for procedures and imaging.
  • Handle documents.
  • Prepare and complete patient referrals.
  • Ensure exam rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Adhere to hospital, department and compliance policies, procedures, regulations and laws (OSHA, DEA, CLIA, etc.).
  • Act in a professional and courteous manner with the public, patients, families and coworkers.
  • Assist the providers with the administrative aspects of their position to ensure the efficient operation of the office on a day-to-day basis.
  • Maintain confidentiality of peers, medical staff and all patient information.
  • Maintain provider appointment scheduling and any changes to their schedules.
  • Implement physician orders under physician direction and notify patients of results as directed by physician.
  • All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience in a medical office or similar healthcare setting.
  • One year of medical practice experience preferred
EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent clinical training.
  • Preferred certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or similar certification preferred but not required. Certification program available for candidates with appropriate clinical experience.
  • Required certification - BLS
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Fast-paced healthcare setting.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, and direct patient interaction.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, bodily fluids, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
