We are searching for a talented CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT for the Wound Care Center

Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

Hours: 24 flex 32hrs- Part time with Benefits

Shift: Day, Monday - Friday 7:45am - 4:15pm

Looking for:

  • Equal to completion of four years of high school or the equivalent is required.
  • Current certification or licensure as a Medical Assistant.
  • BLS certification required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year work experience in healthcare setting is preferred.
  • National 3rd party certification is required within 90 days of hire.

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 20 hours.

  • Greet, receive and assist all persons arriving at Center in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Answer telephone, initiate calls, take and relay messages, and resolve or triage a variety of routine questions, inquiries from patients, physicians and other hospital personnel while maintaining the highest level of customer service.
  • Schedule and adjust all patient clinic appointments.
  • Transcribe physician orders with accuracy and schedule patient ancillary testing with appropriate hospital departments.
  • Accompany patients to exam rooms, perform and record vital signs, blood glucose levels, wound measurements, imaging, or other clinical exams as directed within the scope of position.
  • Responsible for ordering supplies and maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Equal to completion of four years of high school or the equivalent is required.
  • Current certification or licensure as a Medical Assistant.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Prior experience with an electronic health record and/or health related computer software is preferred. (eg. EPIC, PeopleSoft)
  • Customer service experience or training preferred. (Medical Front Desk experience is highly preferred).
  • Fluency in language other than English preferred.
  • A minimum of one (1) year work experience in healthcare setting is preferred.
  • National 3rd party certification is required within 90 days of hire.
