Will deliver resident care to age ranges of residents from adults to geriatrics and assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for residents.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.• Deliver routine daily medications, either prescription or non-prescription, to patients in accordance to the 7 rights of medication administration—right person, right drug, right dose, right time, right route, right reason and right documentation• Coordinate with different nurses and CNAs to assist with medications and patient care.• Follow written or verbal instructions on how to manage medications.• Record medication dosages and times.• Observe patients and document changes in their condition.• Uphold all health and safety standards.• Respond to patient emergency call signals, bells, or intercom systems to identify patient needs.Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by supervisors.Follow work assignments, and/or work schedules in completing and performing assigned tasks.Report all complaints and grievances made by the residentAssist with all duties that are performed by CNA or delegated by nurseMaintain resident confidentiality while preparing, administering and documenting medicationsReport all medication errors immediately upon discovery to supervisor. Supervisor will notify family, physician.Attend and participate in scheduled training and educational classes up to 18 hours annually to maintain current certification as a Nursing AssistantRequirements:• High school diploma or relevant qualification.• Must be a certified medication aide. Meet all applicable state standards for continued certification• Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.• Good understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology.• Physical fitness• Attention to detail• Must be a Certified Nursing Aide in good standing with the state, or must within four (4) months of employment successfully complete the state-required training and competency evaluation program.• Must maintain a current certification in the state throughout employmentJob Description AcknowledgementI have read this job description and fully understand the requirements set forth therein.
