Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides/assists with personal hygiene of the patients.
- Obtain patient's vital signs and weight as requested.
- Perform bedside glucose checks on patients.
- Physical comfort and positioning of the patients.
- Passing and feeding of meal tray to the patients.
- Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to provide non-direct patient care/support services to staff under the direction of licensed personnel.
- Maintains current knowledge of equipment and supplies.
- Responds to patient requests promptly.
- Follows general nursing policies and procedures regarding patient care.
- Communicates openly, directly and timely to immediate supervisor regarding department concerns and decisions.
- Consults with and keeps staff nurses informed of unit activities, needs and problems related to patient care.
- Answers patient call lights timely and reports problems and requests to the nurse.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety and specific job-related hazards.
- Follows the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
- Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra- departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.

Professional Requirements:
- Complete annual education requirements.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Report to work on time and as scheduled.
- Wear identification while on duty.
- Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.
- Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- Comply with all organizational policies.
- Conduct oneself as a professional in accordance with PRIDE values.
- Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvementactivities.
- Attend regular staff meetings and in-services.
Job Requirements:
- Successful completion of certified nurse aide course.
- Medical terminology class (preferred).
- Basic Life Support.
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
