Dumont Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing is a luxury, five-star healthcare facility conveniently located in New Rochelle, New York. Our facility is also accessible via public transportation. Salary
Qualifications:
- A minimum of grammar school education is essential. High school education or equivalent is preferred. Each person employed as nursing - assistant shall have completed one of the following.
Nursing Assistant, orderly, or attendant is a person trained to assist a registered professional nurse, by carrying out tasks that are essential to patient care and supportive and complementary to nursing practice or performing specific services as delegated by RN or LPN.
- A training program designed for such purpose and approved by the Commissioner of Education or other recognized accrediting body.
- A student in a school of Nursing approved by the Commissioner of Education who had completed at least 90 days of an accredited nurse training program that includes the completion of subject material that corresponds to that required for the nurse aide program.
- A person employed as a nurse aide by the facility on a seasonal basis and who is assigned to perform only those duties for which the nurse aide has been trained; and/or
- A person employed as a nurse aide on a full-time or part-time basis for one or more facilities, for a period equal to one year before the effective year of January 1987, and who has demonstrated competency as documented in the nurse aide personnel record.
Responsibilities and Authorities:
- Responsible for handling and serving patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort.
- Adhering to instructions by the nurse and establishing routines.
- Performing duties in accordance with established methods and techniques in conformance with recognized standards.
- Familiarity with policies and procedures of Dumont Center.
- Escorts newly admitted residents to rooms, and assists in providing comfort.
- Lists and stores patients' clothing and valuables, and return property on discharge.
- Involved in implementation of Patients' Bill of Rights / Abuse Regulations.
