Schedule: Expected work hours are 8:00 am - 8:00 pm; Saturday-Sunday with an additional 8-hour shift scheduled 8:00 am - 4:30 pm on a selected weekday. Specific work hours will be established through discussions with your supervisor. Hourly Wage: $22.00 /hr. to start - $23.00 after 90 days Job Summary: At Cherry Blossom Pace, our PCA's play a crucial role in the care of our participants as they provide personal care and assistance in the center or from the comfort of their homes. PCA's must want to make a difference in seniors' lives by working with the interdisciplinary care team to implement and carry out services and activities to proactively meet the needs of our participants. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides supervision, personal care, and basic housekeeping to Participants in the center, home, or in the community, within the scope of Personal Care Aid responsibilities:
- Bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, transfers, lifting, and incontinence maintenance, laundry, meal preparation (Home Care only), clean-up, and other general cleaning.
- Home Care PCA's travel to and from Participant's homes using the aide's own properly registered, inspected, and insured car.
- Accompany Participants to appointments as needed as a passenger in our PACE transportation vehicle.
- Medication monitoring and prompting as appropriate.
- Report any changes in Participant's medical or physical status to appropriate Team Leader or other appropriate medical Team Members to provide proactive care and solutions.
- Documents services provided and observations on appropriate forms using Alaya Care. Required personal cell phone use (will be reimbursed with proper documentation and expense filing).
- Works one-on-one with assigned Participants to implement specific activity plans.
- Provides care to Participants per Interdisciplinary Team plan of care.
- Prepares Participants for treatments within center clinic.
- Participate in and support Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned by Center Manager or designee.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Relates well with people of all ages but has a deep sensitivity and commitment to the elderly
- Ability to organize work and follow through on assigned tasks
- Strong verbal communication skills and can follow written and verbal instructions
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must be able to deal tactfully and patiently with personnel, Participants, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
- Must have the cognitive ability to process and perform tasks for Participant safety.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- One year of experience working with the frail and elderly population or willing to complete Company paid training to meet this requirement
Requirements:
- Requires valid State driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Successful completion of background check, physical, drug screening, TB Screening
- Please note: PCA's and CNA's must have one of the following certifications
- 40-hour Personal Care Aide Certification
- Certified Nursing Assistant Certification
- CHHA Certification
- HHA Certification
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 25 pounds
- Must be able to assist with the evacuation of Participants
- This position may encounter issues/infestations in the homes of the Participants. Following proper protocols is essential.

Individuals must have one year of prior experience caring for the frail elderly or willing to complete Company paid training to meet this requirement.
