- Responsible for the daily care, supervision, and safety of assigned medically complex children.
- Administers medications (by mouth/ via G-tube) and documents on the MAR for medically complex children.
- Administers feedings via tube and flushes as needed.
- Communicates with the Life Sharing Provider, Clinical/Program Coordinator, and Administrator about concerns arising in the care of assigned medically complex children.
- Participates in annual program plan reviews/Team Meetings for assigned medically complex children, as needed.
- Respects each individual's limitations and assists each individual to make choices.
- Promotes good social interactions with each medically complex child served.
- Provides each child with as much assistance as necessary to complete tasks.
- Completes all necessary documentation on a daily basis.
- Monitors availability of medical supplies and informs Life Sharing Provider when re-stock is necessary.
- Takes an active interest in implementing, promoting, and protecting the civil rights of each individual served.
- Maintains confidentiality relative to the individual's records, training progress, and tracking documentation according to HIPAA regulations.
- Promotes a safe and clean working environment.
- Assists with problem solving issues as they arise.
- Participates in on-going in-service training and participates in at least 24-hour in-service training annually including, but not limited to ODP Medication Administration Training, G-Tube Administration Training, CPR and First Aid Training, Fire Safety.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Clinical Coordinator, Health Care Coordinator and/or Life Sharing Administrator.

- Reports all suspected or alleged incidents of abuse or neglect as outlined in our Incident Management policy.

- High School diploma required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) or healthcare field is required.
- Ability to perform a one person pivot as well as assisting individuals to bear weight and ambulate with or without assistance is required.
- Can demonstrate the ability to perform a two-person lift and transfer of individuals to and from their wheelchairs.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to travel to assigned work location
Certificates and Licenses:
- Ability to successfully pass and maintain acceptable background checks – FBI, PA Child Abuse, and PA State Police Criminal History.
- A valid US Driver's License is required. Attaining approved driver status for the organization is required.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not include any direct supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work in a variety of settings and environments and has a low exposure risk to adverse weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. In the event that unanticipated aggressive behavior manifests from individuals served and de-escalation techniques fail, physical crisis intervention may be required. Must be available to work flexible hours and is expected to come in at various times depending upon work-load. Physical Demands: The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and rarely lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
