DescriptionOpen CNA positions! 12-hour shifts available! Pay rates up to $31.60/hr.Mt. Macrina Manor is a 120 bed, not for profit, skilled nursing facility that has served Southwestern Pennsylvania since 1971. The grounds are located approximately one hour south of Pittsburgh in a scenic, peaceful rural area directly off Route 40 in Uniontown. The facility offers 24 hour nursing care, rehabilitative services, memory care, and pastoral care to all denominations. Our staff continues the mission of the Sisters of providing joyous, compassionate care that preserves the human dignity of all that we serve.General Description:The Certified Nursing Assistant provides nursing and nursing related services to residents according to each resident's comprehensive assessment and plan of care. All resident care is provided in a manner that meets the resident's physical, mental, and psychosocial needs and enables the individual to attain and maintain the highest practicable level of functioning. The Nursing Assistant maintains a homelike environment for the resident protects and promotes resident rights and assists the person to maintain independence and control to the greatest extent possible.Essential Duties:* Demonstrate an understanding and puts into practice person - centered philosophy by entering into a relationship with the residents, family and staff where the goal is to provide a comfortable and home - like environment and the relationship develops into a meaningful and satisfying one for all involved.* Provide direct care to residents to improve or maintain the residents' abilities according to the plan of care.* Provide care in a manner that protects and promotes resident rights, dignity, self-determination and active participation.* Assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of the plan of care for assigned residents and reports information about conditions, responses to approaches, and suggestions for alternative approaches to the Unit Manager/RN Supervisor.* Follow all facility policies and procedures including those related to resident care, infection control, rules of conduct, proper body mechanics and incident/accident prevention.* Record accurate, legible information about resident care and condition appropriately.* Communicate with Unit Manager/RN Supervisor about residents regularly throughout the shift. Reports any incidence of behavioral change or refusal of care to the Unit Manager/RN Supervisor.* Monitor physical environment for safety or fire hazards and corrects or reports potential problems immediately to Unit Manager/RN Supervisor.* Attend in-service education provided by the facility annually. Applies information to job tasks.* Maintain appropriate certification.* Customer Service : Demonstrates an understanding and puts into practice excellent customer service by creating a positive first impression, handling with care, being a team player, communicating professionally and acting like an owner.* Compliance : Demonstrates commitment to operating in accordance with its mission, vision, and values. Specifically this means maintaining accuracy and integrity in all of its activities, including providing quality, timely, and necessary care to its residents and operating within the limits of local, state and federal regulations.* HIPAA : Demonstrates confidentiality through a conscious effort to keep all personal information private. This may include the resident's identity, physical or psychological condition, emotional status, or financial situation.* Actively participates in the Resident Dining Program after completing the Feeding Assistant Training Program unless already licensed or certified in an appropriate field. Functions may include: 1. Transporting residents to dining areas, 2. Passing meal trays and assisting residents with tray set-up, 3. Assisting with feeding residents who are not considered high risk, 4. Adhering to dining schedules and assignments, 5. Completes tasks within safety and regulatory guidelines* Any and all other duties as assigned.Education & Experience:* High school diploma or GED is required.* Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the state or must within four months of employment have completed state required training and competency evaluation program.* Must be able to apply basic math skills.* Must be able to interact and work well with others.Physical Demands:* Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in the English language.* Ability to walk, lift, bend at knees and waist, stoop, kneel, reach, climb step stool, and stand in place for extended periods.* Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds.* Ability to push or pull up to 100 pounds occasionally.* Ability to use close vision, peripheral vision, and adjust focus.
