Qualifications:Must be a graduate of an 80-120 hour nursing assistant course and registered to practice in the state of Wisconsin as a Certified Nursing AssistantHigh school diploma or equivalent is preferredAbility to think and work independently and with directionComfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environmentMust have no lifting or bending restrictionsPrevious experience in a health care facility is desiredGood communication skills and bedside manner with a compassionate personalityWillingness to work with all team playersMust have an acceptable criminal background checkReports To:The Certified Nursing Assistant is directly responsible to the Charge Nurse or Shift Supervisor.Essential Job Functions:Provides non-professional routine nursing care to the residents of Christian Community Homes and Services in accordance with the facility and state/federal guidelinesSpecific Job Duties:Must be flexible in work assignments, and especially during a staffing emergency willing to work in other areas if neededDemonstrates ability to perform nursing assistant duties as assigned and plan/prioritize actions before starting resident caresDemonstrates ability to obtain pertinent information regarding residentsPerforms procedures to meet individual resident needs for daily hygiene and appearance including, but not limited to, bathing, grooming, shaving, oral cares, and nail careDemonstrates proper techniques of lifting, transferring, and ambulating residentsImplements special care needs including incontinence cares, special skin care, catheter care, colostomy care, and turning/positioning techniquesPerforms restorative care and range of motion as instructedAssists with resident admissions, discharges, and room transfers as appropriateAssists and encourages residents to take adequate diet, fluids, and supplementsRecognizes physical distress and acts to provide relief for those residentsIdentifies and reports physical and psychological symptoms or spiritual needs to appropriate staffAllows residents the freedom of choice in details of daily living whenever possibleFollows the resident plan of careEnsures resident rights are maintained at all timesReports any observed physical or verbal abuse to the supervisor immediatelyParticipates in establishing and updating resident care plans and aide care sheetsEncourages residents to participate in self care as appropriateAssists residents with the application of prostheticsPerforms vital signs and obtains resident heights and weights per scheduleProvides diversional activities as appropriate to meet resident needsCleans and sanitizes client areas, including changing bed sheetsDemonstrates effective and respectful communication with residents, families, and team membersDemonstrates knowledge of, and adheres to, actions to assure resident and staff safetyDemonstrates proper infection control procedures and practicesComplies with rules and regulations of regulatory and surveying agenciesMaintains an active working relationship with nursing team and ancillary departmentsPromotes the concept of customer satisfaction and positive interpersonal relationshipsParticipates in giving and receiving report from the nursesAttends scheduled training seminars, meetings, and inservices as appropriateFollows work assignments and/or work schedules as assignedPractices good personal hygiene and facility dress codeAssumes added duties as assigned by Charge Nurse and/or shift supervisorStays up-to-date on CNA training, policies and proceduresPhysical RequirementsMust be able to:Stand and walk for long periods of timeFrequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, twist, and reach with hands and armsManually lift 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 poundsPay is $18.00-$24.00 per hour DOE. Shift differentials available on evening and overnight shifts.
