JOB DESCRIPTION:
A Certified Nursing Assistant Trainee performs various basic duties necessary to the operation of the nursing department in support of nurses and nursing assistants. Actively participating in the State-approved 100-hour Nurse Aide Training Program or have completed the program and are waiting to take the clinical and written evaluations.
**NOTE: All individuals hired for the CNA training program are employees of the company and will work at the facility after training is completed and the New York State exam is passed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents (i.e., physical, cognitive, and socialization factors) in planning care delivery
Attends all mandatory in-services by employee's anniversary date
Acts appropriately under the direction of the In-service Coordinator or Charge Nurse and acts as an active member of the interdisciplinary team
Demonstrates ability to adjust to changes in units/shift assignments to meet resident and facility needs
Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program when performing work functions
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 18 years of age
No findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment, and misappropriation of property
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to follow written and verbal instructions and work well with and show respect towards fellow staff members, physicians, residents, and family members
Caring and compassionate bedside manner
Respect for residents' privacy and rights; display of genuine concern for the elderly
Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness
Physical endurance for frequent activity; ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
